A new chapter for medical education in Montenegro
FMSZN is an emerging private faculty in Podgorica, being established to educate competent, ethical and compassionate doctors — and to serve the healthcare needs of Montenegro and the wider region.
An institution being built the right way
The Faculty of Medicine and Related Health Sciences (FMSZN) is being established in Podgorica to offer high-quality education in medicine and the related health sciences — in line with European standards and the needs of Montenegro's present-day healthcare system.
Its flagship offering is an Integrated programme in Medicine of six years, leading to the degree of Doctor of Medicine. The programme follows the newly-established Montenegrin model and embeds at least 25% practical training, in line with national requirements and WFME standards for basic medical education.
Though private, the institution's mission is firmly public-facing: it places student learning, patient safety, academic integrity and clinical competence at the centre of everything it is being built to do.

Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and the molecular basis of health and disease.
Clinical Sciences
Pathology, pharmacology and the transition into diagnostic clinical reasoning.
Advanced Rotations
Supervised hospital practice across internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics and more.
Clinical Practice
Independent practice under supervision, the diploma thesis and the State Final Exam.
Doctor of Medicine
A qualification aligned with EU Directive 2005/36/EC and WFME standards.
